COAR In-Person Polices Begining June 1, 2021

  1. COAR and MLSCO will be open to members by appointment only on June 1. Please make an appointment with the appropriate staff person. See COAR staff responsibilities and contact information below.  Note that we are rotating staff to decrease exposure, so not all staff are in the office each day.
  2. We will begin scheduling limited MLSCO hybrid trainings and classes in June. The offerings will be included in our June Professional Development newsletter.  Registration will be required.
  3. Please note, that if you are at the COAR office for a class or meeting, you will still need to make an appointment to see a staff member. Members will not be able to enter the office part of the building without an appointment. We are continuing to operate with decreased staff on-site to prevent any potential exposure to all staff.
If you are coming in for a class, appointment or meeting, please note the following:
  • The facility will be cleaned after all classes and meetings.
  • Classroom doors and windows will be open.
  • You will check-in at the front window. Doors will be locked until after you check in for your appointment or class.
  • We will continue safe distancing and 50% capacity limit.
  • COAR will not create a policy that would put staff members in the position of checking the vaccine status of members attending tour meetings, classes or events. Therefore, masks remain required for COAR classes and meetings.
  • For offsite events: Mask and verification policies at offsite events will be determined by the event venue.
  • Verified vaccinated instructors/presenters can remove their masks.
  • For appointments: if you are coming in for an appointment and are comfortable showing your vaccination card, then you do not need to wear a mask. Please wear your mask if you are not comfortable showing your card or are not vaccinated.
  • As of June 7, all COAR staff will be fully vaccinated and have the option not to wear a mask. If you make an appointment and would like the staff member to wear a mask, please let us know.
  • Committees will discuss masks and verification policies on a committee-by-committee basis.

Phones

Staff will still be available by phone by calling 541-382-6027, which is our current phone number. Please note, our office hours will remain the same which is 8:00am-5:00pm. If you call outside of business hours, your call will be routed to our general voicemail system and you will need to leave a message and we will respond during our next business day.

COAR has created a new, animated explainer video that breaks down a November ordinance passed by the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners. The ordinance made some key changes to the legal lot of record verification process. At just over 3 minutes, the video provides a quick and easy way to get up-to-speed on the recent changes.
