In 2020 REALTORS Give to Central Oregon Charities, COVID and Wildfire Relief

Oct. 27, 2020 (Bend, OR): The Central Oregon Association of REALTORS (COAR) has contributed over $112,000 to local organizations this year. Most recently with a $20,000 contribution to the Central and Eastern Oregon Red Cross for providing wildfire relief in Central Oregon. 

COAR has several charitable giving programs:

  • Annual Giving-COAR accepts applications from January-September and distributes funds in October. Local nonprofits that focus on basic needs can apply for program funds. In 2020, the charitable giving committee contributed to:

Building a Better Central Oregon Announces 2020 Awardees

 

Bend, OR. October 17, 2020. The Central Oregon Association of REALTORS® (COAR) presented the 2020 Building a Better Central Oregon (BBCO awards last week at The Haven in Bend. BBCO’s main purpose is to recognize worthy residents who have enhanced their community with outstanding new or renovated residential, commercial or industrial buildings. Projects are judged on economic impact, neighborhood improvement, unique design or use of materials.

 

Outstanding Medical Facility Fulfilling a Community Need

La Pine Clinic-St. Charles Health System, Inc.

Due to the increasing need for primary care services in underserved communities, St. Charles opened the La Pine center in May of 2018. The services available at the clinic are immediate care, imaging, laboratory and family care. The design of the building, along with a large area of natural landscape

In order to affirm our ongoing commitment to fair housing and the REALTOR® motto that “Fair housing makes US stronger,” the Central Oregon Association of REALTORS (COAR) worked with cities throughout the region on acknowledgements, proclamations and resolutions recognizing April as Fair Housing Month.

Central Oregon Association of REALTORS’ Members Help Enhance Jefferson County with New Trails

Bend, Or (July 29, 2019) –The Central Oregon Association of Realtors(COAR)has received a $5,000 Placemaking grant from the National Association of Realtors(NAR) to help make Jefferson County a better place to live by creating greater access to a multi-use trail system for walkers, runners, horse riders, mountain bikers and e-bike riders. The Madras East Hills TrailsProject is a trail system east of town, just across from Juniper Hills Park. COAR is also contributing $500 toward for the project. Madras Realtors recently volunteered at the trail system, installing signs and helping to build and refine trail features such as berms.
